History

The event was conceived by Beach parent alum, Nate Query (The Decemberists). Nate was responsible for recruiting the initial band and singers. He enlisted Beach parent Adam Shearer (WEINLAND, Alialujah Choir, The Portland Cello Project) to act as the host and front person of the band. Today the leadership core is made up of several Beach parents (both current and alumni). Our music director is Jon McNeill. Our vocal coordinator is Jessica Kelley. Our emcee and front person is Adam Shearer.

The Results:

• Beach Rocks has raised over $10,000 to support the Beach Community Union.
• Beach Rocks fosters community through music.
• Beach Rocks has offered many people their first chance to perform on stage.
• Beach Rocks has rocked.

El evento fue concebido por el alumno padre de Beach, Nate Query (The Decemberists). Nate fue responsable de reclutar a la banda inicial y a los cantantes. Reclutó al padre de Beach, Adam Shearer (WEINLAND, Alialujah Choir, The Portland Cello Project) para actuar como presentador y líder de la banda.
